Mobility Scooter Brake Overheating

If you discover that the brake on your mobility scooter is overheating, it will probably mean that the brake is not disengaging when it should do, this will cause the brake to still be engaged and not only will it risk overheating but will cause the brake to wear out very quickly.

It is unlikely that overheating will be caused from hard braking as the limited speed of a mobility scooter will not cause enough heat to be generated to lead to overheating, even if you are starting and stopping frequently.

Depending on the make and model of your mobility scooter, there could be a number of reasons that the brake is not disengaging properly and if the problem is ignored it will not usually correct itself so its important that if you do happen to get this problem with your mobility scooter that you get it sorted straight away.

Without getting it fixed, the brake will continue to overheat, it will cause rapid unnecessary wear and will also mean that you are not getting the most from your mobility scooter.

    Hi
    I have a Quingo Air 2
I have replaced the motor & Brake with new, it’s still overheating. The problem must be electrical is there a fuse or a connector that would cause the brake to stay on?. I don’t have a wiring diagram for the scooter.
