How about this for an innovative way to make use of an old mobility scooter? Dr Who fan Nigel Chivers has created a full size model Dalek.

The creation took him two years to carry out and is full featured with a ray gun and eyestalk. At 7ft tall it is armed with nothing more dangerous than a water pistol.

Using the old scooter that belonged to a friend’s mother, he made the shell from plywood. The rest of the look was completed with the imaginative use of fibreglass, scrap aluminium and a taxidermist’s glass eye for a deer.
