Hi & thank you for your comment. I was not entirely sure of the answer so I contacted the manufacturers, and their answer is below:

“It is OK for a while in the pouring rain, but not for a long time as it is shower proof, not waterproof. Every user might face the situation of sudden rain while going out, and it is absolutely OK.

Try to find a shelter and dry the connection area for good maintenance (same as for every other power wheelchairs in the market), but the user doesn’t have to worry too much about it. The user could keep a transparent plastic bag to cover the joystick controller and a small towel (to dry certain parts).

The chair is durable, but just like a bicycle, the better the upkeep & maintenance you perform, the more durable it is. This is not only for PW-777PL but applicable for all our wheelchair.”
