Hi, i am using a sterling mobility scooter to make a kids toy. Sometimes when i switch it on everything is ok, other times it is dead. Nothing i do will persuade it to turn on after this. My question is whether there is a reset procedure and if the handles on the tiller are not central will it still turn on. I have checked all wires and connections, left it unplugged from the batteries, ensured the batteries are charged and reconnected everything as it should be. No joy . Also can i read trouble codes from the diagnostic plug and how would i go about it. Please help excited kids and no prospect of getting it to go. Sorry don’t know what model but it’s the big 4 wheel one with a digital dash from a while ago.

Can you tell me, who pays for the electricity to charge my scooter? I live in a sheltered complex and the Housing Association have installed 2 charging points and the electricity used is paid for by an increase in the communal service charge.

While I do my best to answer any of those questions that I can, I am sometimes unable to provide enough information regarding the persons mobility aid problem.

So I have decided that when I receive a question through the contact form that I will post that question making it public in a short and individual post, I will leave out names and anything that I feel doesn’t need to be included and by making the question public here I hope that it will increase the chances of the questions being answered.

Whether its why something isn’t working on a mobility scooter for example, or where you can get a specific spare part or anything else, as long as its mobility/disability related then there’s a good chance that visitors to this site will be able to help each other out with helpful information.

Can you give some advice on a Cadiz model S889LS mobility scooter.  I bought it second hand as I couldn’t afford a new one.  On its first outing it suddenly came to a stop.  Lights etc all work, its fully charged but will not budge.  Had someone come to look at it and he ‘cleaned the bushes’ (£50).
Still got same problem, can anyone help as I am getting desperate. Thanks Jo

Got a sterling mobility scooter and when i pull the leaver it makes a noise, it usually does but wont move. Cant push it either.

Not sure what might be the cause of this but hoping that someone might be able to help with the answer?

Hi, I have a Pro Rider Road King.

The problem I am having is after about 10 minutes my scooter stops and will not move forward or back after about 5 to 10 mins it goes again. I think it’s the Controller but not 100% sure any ideas anyone?  And where would I get a controller at a reasonable price.?

Hi. I wonder if you can help me. I have a Landlex Broadway S400x RS scooter (2008) with a weird problem. When moving off the power suddenly goes completely – no lights, no status LED, nothing. If I leave it for a while, the power returns until I try to move off again. The batteries are fully charged. I’ve fitted new motor brushes, checked all visible wiring and plugs, including dismantling the 2 battery boxes to check internal wires. The cut-out on the battery box stays on (i.e. doesn’t trip) and all ancillaries work OK until I move off. Is there a safety breaker somewhere that could be causing this? I’ve contacted the manufacturer in Taiwan, but they have not replied. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. (P.S. do you know where I may be able to get a wiring diagram?

Where can i get my battery charger checked? Living in S.E London, the fuse is OK, the lights come on, but fan does not work and no power at the plug that goes into the scooter.

Is for a Gel-SLA battery, Any help greatly appreciated.
